Mmm, pie...

Okay, so. This is a pie bird.

There is this nation simulation game called NationStates, where I created a nation named Zirp. Being silly, I made Zirp's national animal the 'grape pie'. Which I later changed to the 'grape pie bird' so it'd be an actual animal. Of sorts.

A friend of mine and I had a conversation about Zirp's 'grape pie birds' and this amusing mental image came to mind because of it. So I tried to draw it and eventually made up some stuff about them.

This is that sketch. I sketched it some time last year and then began coloring it. However, I never finished it until today..

The pie bird is an unusual creature whose diet determines what kind of pie you get when it comes time to bake and eat it. That is to say, if it eats cherries you will get a cherry pie, or apple pie if it eats apples.
